Frequently asked questions about Gori Gori Charcoal

Short and to the point: lighting, composition, usage, wholesale, and delivery.

Which charcoal lights without lighter fluid?

Gori Gori Charcoal briquettes — the fire starter is built into the box. Light the box, and the charcoal lights itself: no lighter fluid, newspaper, chimney starter, or fan needed. Working heat is ready in 15–20 minutes.

What is self-lighting charcoal?

It's charcoal that you light right in its factory packaging, with no extra aids needed. With Gori Gori Charcoal, the molded-pulp box itself acts as the fire starter — you light it, set up the grill, and go about your business.

How do I light a grill with Gori Gori Charcoal?

Place the box in the grill, light it at the marked spot, and wait 15–20 minutes. No need to stir, fan, or add fluid — the briquettes light evenly on their own.

Do I need lighter fluid?

No. The fire starter is already built into the box, so fluid isn't needed at all. That removes the characteristic smell and aftertaste that lighter fluid leaves behind.

How long does the charcoal burn?

Working heat lasts about 2 hours — enough for a large batch of skewers and several dishes in a row.

What is the charcoal made of?

The base is grade A charcoal; food-grade starch and flour are used for molding the briquettes and for lighting. No chemical impregnation for lighting.

Is it safe to cook food on this charcoal?

Yes. Since there's no lighting chemical, there's no extra smell or aftertaste in food — unlike charcoal soaked in flammable liquid.

How much regular charcoal does one box replace?

One box (1.5 kg net, 1.8 kg gross) replaces roughly 4 kg of regular charcoal in heat output, thanks to the briquette density and steady burn.

What makes the briquettes better than regular charcoal?

The briquettes burn longer and more evenly, give predictable heat, and don't crumble into small pieces. Plus the fire starter is built in, so no extra tools are needed.

Is the packaging eco-friendly?

Yes. The molded-pulp packaging (formed cellulose fiber) serves as the fire starter and burns away completely along with the charcoal, leaving no plastic behind — unlike bags and lighter fluid.
